Spring Revolution

Following the coup, the members of YDNBUSU protested not only by joining forces with the protest led by Ko Tay Zar San in front of the University of Medicine (Mandalay) but also by attending the announcement ceremony of practicing Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) by Yadanabon University teachers on February 4, which is the start of Spring Revolution in Mandalay.

On the same day, four comrades, including YDNBUSU member Min Nyi Nyi Kon, were detained and imprisoned unjustly due to the military’s brutal arrest in the guise of fascists.

YDNBUSU spearheaded and participated in the front lines of Mandalay’s protest columns. Furthermore, the YDNBUSU Strike Leading Team was covertly formed and actively led and participated in the university students’ unions protest (Takatha Strikes) columns and all-city marches.

YDNBUSU has also been partaking in anti-fascist activities by joining forces with protest groups all over the country till now, especially General Strike Coordination Body-GSCB.

Due to the revolution’s growth and changes, the Acting Executive Committee was dissolved because its working term had come to an end. The YDNBUSU Strike Leading Team was enlarged to create the Revolution Leading Committee on August 29, 2021.

The Revolution Leading Committee is the highest-level organization of the Student Union during the present interim period. It is involved in anti-fascist fighting, anti-coup struggles, fights for getting federal democracy, and efforts for federal democracy education.
